Les feuilles Souchong, plus mûres et plus grandes feuilles à partir des parties inférieures du théier seront utilisées. Ces feuilles sont mises sur des plaques de fer chaudes et chauffées pendant une courte période. Ensuite le thé est fumé avec des bois exotiques riches en résine. Le temps de fumage est déterminé pour chaque type ( Lapsang Souchong, Tarry Lapsang Souchong ou Lapsang Souchong Crocodile). Notre Lapsang Souchong a de grandes feuilles, légèrement grisâtres avec une excellente longueur en bouche.
