“Nagasawa explores, simultaneously, several aspects of creation: installation, sculpture, and receptacles. In this last category, she is developing a veritable “family” of objects: bowls, cups, a sake service, tea pots. Like her sculpture, these objects are grounded in geometrical archetypes: spheres and half-spheres, cylinders, cubes. Their character does not reside in the eatery of the material but rather in the nobility of pure volumes, in the sensitive treatment of surfaces, and in the subtle association of materials and colours.”
